Rixdorf 03am

Somewhere in the cracks of Berlin, hidden away like a secret only a few will ever know, there’s an old settlement. Half-timbered barns leaning against polished villas like two lovers who’ve had enough of each other but can’t quite walk away. Cobblestone courtyards, quiet farm buildings... all of it hiding from the mess just beyond. That’s where you’ll find flieder’s latest EP, Rixdorf 3am. It’s understated, stripped-down—elegant in a way that only comes from holding your ground while everything around you crumbles.

Rixdorf 03am opens with a pulse. It’s 3 a.m. and the city won’t let you rest. The heat of the night clings to you, keeps you on your feet, wandering the streets. The bassline pushes you through the maze of Rixdorf’s alleys. You’re lost, sure, but the streetlights flicker enough to remind you you’re still here, still moving. The beat is the only map you’ve got.

Then there’s Kreatin Blues—a strange one. It stumbles in with a shaky drop, an odd sample, and cowbells, because why the hell not? It’s offbeat, a little clumsy, but it’s got soul. Before you even know it, the groove gets its hooks in you. No apologies, no explanations, just that weirdness that feels right when you least expect it.

Velvet smooths things out. The city starts to wake up, but you’re still stuck in the night. Your mind’s running in circles, spinning faster than you want it to. But this track? It’s like that first deep breath after hours of holding it in. A soft groove, a steady bassline... it’s the calm you didn’t know you needed, just before the morning light creeps in.

And then comes What If. The question hangs there in the air, teasing. What if you took a sample, chopped it up, shredded it to pieces, and stitched it back together with trippy sounds and warm synths? The answer is something you don’t expect, but it makes sense when it all comes together.

Finally, Malik Faquir steps in to remix Velvet. And it’s a damn good thing he does. Faquir slaps his signature funky grit on the smoothness of Velvet, taking it somewhere you didn’t see coming. Crisp synths, infectious beats—it’s a remix that makes you listen, even if you weren’t planning to. Faquir doesn’t just remix the track, he bends it to his will, and suddenly Velvet is something new, something sharp.

Flieder’s Rixdorf 03am doesn’t walk with the crowd—it cuts through it. It’s chaos with purpose, a groove that feels like it’s just waiting for the world to slow down and catch up. It stands out, not because it’s loud, but because it doesn’t need to be. It’s raw, it’s real, and it hits you right where it counts.
